There are many ISPs in India. Here we will look some top 5 Internet service providers of Country at customer point of view. Internet users are increasing very rapidly, and hence data usage is also growing fast, thanks to the budget smartphones which make it easier to access the internet on phones.

Airtel Broadband

 Airtel is the largest ISP in India and holds 23.07% market share of broadband services as on 31Dec2015. It provides the broad range of broadband services using 4G, 3G, ADSL Wired internet, and Wi-Fi Technologies. Let us see each broadband service provided by Airtel.

              4G: Airtel is the first ISP which has launched the 4G internet in India. In 4G technology, data speed is very much higher than the 3G technology. The downloading speed and uploading speed get increased tremendously in 4G. You can get the locations of the cities where 4G internet are available from Airtel’s official website.

                Features of Airtel 4G

          3G:  Airtel provides the fast 3G internet across the country. 3G Coverage cities are available on their official website. Airtel prepaid plan starts from just Rs 7 per day with 1-day validity. 1GB prepaid data cost is Rs 252 with 28 days validity. Airtel is providing a large variety of 3G plans available.

            Airtel wired Internet: Airtel offers wired broadband in 94 cities and 2nd largest ISP in wired BB market. It provides all unlimited plans whose rent starts from Rs 699 per month to Rs 3299 per months. Internet speed ranges from 2Mbps to 40Mbps depending upon the plan subscribed by the user.

              Airtel wi-fi hangouts: Airtel provides wi-fi hotspot facility in NCR, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Mangalore. It offers unlimited download plans, but validity is limited to 30min, 60min, and 120min.

Vodafone Internet

Vodafone is the 2nd largest Broadband Service Providers in India and holds 18.98% market share of broadband services as on 31Dec2015. It provides the large variety of broadband services using 4G, 3G Technology.

                4G: As per news reports Vodafone started distribution of 4G SIM cards in India. Vodafone has launched 4G services in some cities.

              3G: Vodafone has 3G spectrum license for ten telecom circles. It provides some good postpaid plans. Postpaid plans just start from Rs 150/- per month with 500MB free usage. There are some unlimited postpaid plans also available like Rs 650/- per month with 3GB free usage, after crossing 3GB limit speed will be reduced to 64Kbps.

Vodafone also has a good range of 3G prepaid plans. Vodafone prepaid 3G plans starts from just Rs 24/- with 75MB free usage and 2day validity. One can get 1GB internet in Rs 248 with the validity of 28 days.

IDEA Internet

The Idea is the 3rd largest Broadband Service Providers in India and holds the 15.54% market share of broadband services as on 31Dec2015. The Idea is providing 3G and 4G internet facility for accessing broadband service on Smartphone, Laptop, and Tab.

                IDEA 4G: As per their official website Idea will launch 4G services in 12 telecom circles which will cover around 700 cities. Prepaid and postpaid 4G tariff plans are available on their website. 1GB postpaid plan with one month cycle will cost you around Rs 250/-. 4G Postpaid plans are available up to 20GB per month data usage.

                Prepaid plans are starts from Rs 249/- with 1GB usage and validity of 28 days. Maximum up to Rs 1899/- with 12GB usage prepaid plans are available with 28 days validity.

                IDEA 3G: Idea provides 3G services in most of the cities of the country. The Idea 3G network coverage can be checked online on their official website.

                It provides 3G facility to both prepaid and postpaid users. 3G prepaid plans start from just Rs 8/- with 20MB data and validity of 1day.  1GB data is available in Rs 249/- with the validity of 28 days. Some unlimited 3G data also plans available.

                Idea 3G postpaid plans start from just Rs 100/- with 300MB data usage. Unlimited postpaid data plans starts from just Rs 299/- with 1G free usage, after crossing 1GB limit speed will be reduced to 40Kbps.

BSNL Broadband

 BSNL is the Public Sector undertaking of Government of India. It has the market share of 14.54% of broadband services as on 31Dec2015. It provides the internet service in all telecom circles except Delhi and Mumbai. BSNL provides broadband services through 3G technology, ADSL technology, Wi-Fi hotspot, Wi-MAX and Fiber to the home.

                BSNL 3G: Like other operators, BSNL also provides prepaid and postpaid broadband 3G services. Prepaid plan starts from Rs 17 with the usage limit of 110MB which will be valid for one day. 1GB data plan is available for Rs 198/- with 28 days validity. It also provides the unlimited 3G prepaid plans.

                Postpaid 3G data plans of BSNL starts from just Rs 50 per month with 250MB free usage. 1GB postpaid plan is available at Rs 170 per month.

                BSNL ADSL Broadband: It is the largest internet service provider in this segment. A dedicated copper line is provided to the customer to access the internet through ADSL Technology. Both prepaid and postpaid plans are there to choose, but most of the customers prefer postpaid as compared to prepaid in wired broadband. BSNL Unlimited plans are also available whose rent starts from Rs 545 per month.

                Wi-Fi hotspot: BSNL Wi-Fi hotspot is in deployment stage. Currently, Wi-Fi hotspots are available in 58 cities. One can get the location of these towns from BSNL official site.

                BSNL FTTH: It is the fastest Internet facility of BSNL. FTTH works on PON technology using fiber optic cable, ONTs & OLTs, etc. Up to 100Mbps speed can be provided to customers.

Reliance Communications

 Reliance Communications has the market share of 11.29% of Internet services as on 31Dec2015. It provided broadband services through 3G technology and wired Broadband.

                Reliance 3G: Reliance 3G services are available in more than 333 cities. You can get the Telecom circle wise cities list from their official website. Like other operators they also have a huge variety of prepaid and postpaid plans. Prepaid plans rent starts from Rs 74 with 350MB data usage and validity of 5 days. It is available in Delhi only. 1GB data pack starts from Rs 177 with the validity of 30 days. Plan rent may vary from one state to another state.

                Postpaid plans are starts from Rs 123 per month with 400MB free data and applicable for Mobile phones. 1 GB postpaid data plan is available at Rs 156 per month applicable only for mobile phones. USB Dongle postpaid starts from Rs 250 per month with 1GB data usage.

                Reliance wired Broadband: Reliance Communications also provides the wired internet facility to customers. Monthly rent for unlimited broadband plan starts from Rs 599 with 1Mbps speed. Maximum rental for a broadband plan is Rs 1249/- with 4Mbps speed.
